Iran films to compete in Concepción Independent Film Awards

Iranian movies ‘Mr. A’ and ‘Five’ have been nominated to compete at the Concepción Independent Film Awards in Chile.

Flicks ‘Mr. A’ and ‘Five’ are slated to compete against films from other countries in the Chilean festival, organizers announced on Monday.

Directed by Siamak Ahmadi, ‘Mr. A’ will compete against ‘Cuerdas’ by Spanish director Pedro Solis Garcia and ‘Conocer A Dios’ by Juan Sanchez from Argentina, in the animated section of the festival.

Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini’s ‘Five’ was nominated for the best short documentary award and will compete against ‘My Life with Saddam’ by Yasaman Sharifmanesh from Sweden and ‘Hasta El Amanecer’ by Nico Alva from Spain.

Winners will be announced in the Chilean city of Concepción on August 11.
